- How the association meets the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The GDPR comes into force on 25th May 2018.
To ensure data holding and processes are in line with the new legislation, we need to make you aware of what information we hold for you and how that will be managed.
Information we hold:
Some or all of the following for individuals who work for member companies:
Name, email address, company address, telephone numbers – both land line, fax and mobile - job titles, dietary requirements.
In addition, we hold company logos and website addresses.
We do not share the contact details of member company representatives outside the association without consent.
Our member companies can be identified on the association website either by name or logo with an associated general website link.
The membership should also ensure that it does not share individual contact details with those outside the membership.
You have the right to request that we remove your contact information from our address book. You have the right to ask what information we hold on you and to rectify it when needed.
We hold an individual’s contact details ‘personal details’ and process them in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 Article 6, 1(b) where ‘processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract’.
Any queries on data protection should be referred to the Secretary, Julie Young.
